My favorite flower...

Sure, a girl can love roses and orchids. I was always the tulip and iris type of girl. But, I have come to a new phase in my life. A phase that has created an afinity for an unlikely golden gem; the dandelion.

Though I have been gently handed dozens if not a hundred of these precious tokens of love throughout the past couple of years, it still melts my heart. My three sweet boys diligently search any patch of grass they can find for a "flower for mommy." Each time I recieve this tangible evidence of their unconditional love I am reminded of how precious these little men are in my life. The dandelion is always recieved with a smile, a kiss on the cheek to the "giver" and then I tuck it behind my ear. It is not until that flower is placed in its rightful position (behind the ear)does my sweet benefactor run off and back to the business of being a kid. Often, I forget about these treasures behind my ear and find a wilty flower falling out of my hair and onto my pillow at night...but even then it still brings a smile to my face and warmth to my heart.

I love my sons! Thank you boys, for showing me just how beautiful and priceless a dandelion can be.

Perfect music for a great post! I love the dandelions, too. Our neighbors think that they are weeds, but we sure like them. :)
